Looking for a crochet shawl pattern that’s as elegant as it is cozy? The Tea for Two Triangle Shawl brings together delicate textures, timeless colors, and a design that’s perfect for layering. Whether you’re wrapping it around your shoulders on a breezy day or styling it as a scarf for a casual look, this crochet shawl is versatile and beautiful.

Triangular crochet shawl in soft pink, sage green, and cream stripes with textured stitch patterns and scalloped edging, draped behind a vintage floral teacup and creamer set.

What Makes the Tea for Two Triangle Shawl Special?

The Tea for Two Triangle Shawl is designed with both comfort and style in mind. Its alternating sections of lace and texture create a visually striking piece that’s satisfying to crochet and stunning to wear. The soft hues of blush, sage, and cream evoke a sense of calm, reminiscent of sharing a pot of tea with a friend.

This triangle shawl / scarf pattern was designed with the Royal Albert Tea Set as inspiration. When you think of the luxurious high tea what comes to mind for you? For myself it is always this pattern as My Great Grandmother had this entire set when I was growing up but I was never allowed to use it. While the kids had the plastic version, the adults got to sit and enjoy the wonderful smelling tea out of this fine china!

Tips for making this pattern

  • While working this pattern I would recommend using a stitch marker to mark the top of your beginning chain or first stitch of the row.
  • I would recommend marking your ch 2 at the bottom of the V to make it easier to know where the increase sts will go.
  • Beginning ch 1 does NOT count as a st
  • Rows beginning with a ch 2 or ch 3 these chains WILL count as your first st.
  • Please note that the stitch count for the row does NOT include the ch 2 at the bottom of the V.
  • Pick a yarn that highlights texture. The pattern uses Size 1 / Fingering Weight Yarn. Select a cohesive palette or use up your stash for a scrappy feel.
  • Finish off the shawl by using your preferred blocking method.
